Zazu Cloud started inside Tile & Carpet Centre, a multi-branch building-materials retailer in Kenya with more than 40,000 products. We tried the big systems. They wanted us to change how we worked, and every change meant waiting on a third party. So we built the software ourselves, around how our branches, warehouses, drivers and M-Pesa payments actually run.
Today, every delivery run, quotation and M-Pesa payment at Tile & Carpet Centre — Zazu’s founding customer and sister company — runs on Zazu. Every app we sell was proven in a real operation before it became a product.
That’s still how we build: start with a real operational problem, solve it where the work actually happens, prove the result, and only then turn it into a product other businesses can adopt.
